About Me
As a travel advisor for many years, I’ve gained a spectrum of experience, managing groups and corporate travel, while creating personalized vacations for leisure travelers.

After working for several D.C., Maryland and North Carolina agencies, I launched my own travel business in 2002. Missions Away was dedicated to the global needs of humanitarian aid workers. Together, we made a difference for people in many disadvantaged regions of the world, including Guatemala, Haiti, Africa, India and Asia. While this work was rewarding, family life dictated a transition to my original passion, leisure travel. I changed my professional focus and company name to Journeys Afar, Inc, which better reflects the scope of customized vacations offered.

My professional certifications include Certified Travel Advisor (CTA), Western Europe, Aruba, Viking Cruises and Ireland Specialist. Numerous travel adventures have taken me throughout Europe, India, South Africa, Uganda, Asia, Canada, Mexico, Cuba and around the Caribbean. With each trip, I seek out local contacts who provide valuable support for clients' future visits.
Mission
Whether an Indian or African safari, Asian or European river cruise, honeymoon, family reunion, or a customized multi country trip, my ongoing goal is to provide the ultimate client care and cultural experiences. Vision
Developing long term relationships with clients is my ultimate goal, many of whom have become dear friends. Personally, I enjoy spending time with my precious family, including my seven brilliant grandchildren. I am also an avid swimmer and runner, enjoy writing, and have published two poetry books.
